Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park has been a groundbreaking entertainment event since 2013 and has redefined the ‘music festival’ to what it is today. It’s established an illustrious history in just three years and will continue so do so with the partnership being extended a further two years until 2019.
The main event
Held at London’s Hyde Park at the height of summer, the Royal Park is an iconic venue for fans and families alike. The famous Great Oak stage has housed rock legends the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and welcomed cult indie bands like the Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines as well as hosting pop princesses Kylie Minogue and Taylor Swift. This year sees Bristol duo Massive Attack, indie-rock band Florence + The Machine and timeless songstress Carole King hit the main stage over the weekend of 1 -3 July. The following weekend definitely won’t disappoint, with folk-cum-rock band Mumford & Sons and Britain’s biggest pop band Take That taking to the stage, followed by the legendary Stevie Wonder closing the festival.
“This is one of those venues that a band has to headline to be considered one of the greats. We are honoured to invite everyone to a huge Take That party in the Royal Park. We will bring a show that does it justice. We cannot wait.” Gary Barlow, Take That [inline quote]
And it’s not just the stars that steal the show. The event offers diverse entertainment, family-friendly events and some of London’s best food and drink stalls. Not only is it a fun-filled, jam-packed week, festival-goers need not worry about carrying cash, tokens or standing in mammoth queues to withdraw from ATMs. We created the first contactless festival in the UK, and we haven’t stopped innovating there. Now music-lovers can just tap and go to pay for pizza, pints and anything in between using contactless cards, bPay devices, trendy TOPSHOP X BPAY accessories, and your favourite contactless device or wearable.
The event runs from 1 - 10 July 2016. So, what are you waiting for? Buy your tickets here: www.barclaycard.co.uk/entertainment
